Welcome to the 7th International Conference on Planning and Design
Welcome message
ICPD 2013 cordially invites you to the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan. This biennial international forum is designed for the dissemination and exchange of up-to-date research in industrial design, architecture and urban planning, and your participation and contribution is pivotal to its success.
The NCKU College of Planning and Design, newly established in August 2003, includes the Department of Architecture, Department of Industrial Design, Department of Urban Planning and the Institute of Creative Industry Design. The first three were originally under the College of Engineering and have been pioneers, professionally and academically, in their respective fields in Taiwan since they were first founded.
The College of Planning and Design has held a series of international conferences biennially since 2001, with a view to gain insight into innovative directions and trends in academic research and technological development and to share and spread our research results.
ICPD 2013 will start with Keynote Speeches and Parallel Sessions from the 20th to 23th of May at the NCKU, Tainan, followed by a cultural tour of the city on the 24th of May.
Outstanding papers from this conference recommended by the jury will be invited for submission to the following journals:
- International Journal of Design (SSCI, SCI, A&HCI, ABI)
- ArS (Architecture Science, Architectural Institute of Taiwan)
- Journal of Planning (NCKU Department of Urban Planning)
Origin of the activities
The College of Planning and Design was newly launched in August 2003, which includes Department of Architecture, Department of Industrial Design, Department of Urban Planning and Institute of Creative Industries Design. The first three departments were originally in the College of Engineering and have been the pioneers of professional and academic field in Taiwan since there were first established. It is the first exclusive College of such kind established in Taiwan .
Purpose
To get insight of innovative orientations of academic knowledge and dynamics of technological development of industries, and to share and spread our research results, the College of Planning and Design has hold a series of international conferences biannually since 2000.
Date
ICPD 2013 will start with Keynote Speeches and Parallel Sessions from 20th of May to 24th of May at the NCKU in Tainan, followed by a culture tour on 25th of May in Tainan.
